3.2 Lenticular Effects
There are 5 basic effects namely: 3D, animation, flip, morph and zoom.
- 3D – 3D prints are specially designed to give you a sense of depth. We offer two types of method to achieve depth.
1) Photographic 3D – It involves capturing a sequence of pictures of a scene using digital camera across the whole scene. These images are processed and interlaced to reconstruct multiple viewpoints which create the effect of viewing the same scene from different direction. Lenticular prints that were created this way give a continuous and realistic 3D similar to real life landscape.
2) Layered 3D (Rounding / Volumetric effect) – It is the creation of depth on a 2D image and converting it into 3D image. Layered files are required; each of the layers containing the individual image elements is used to create a 3D perception. By creating depth, the objects appear to float on mid air while the background recedes behind the objects. In rounding / volumetric effect, the floating objects in the various layers are manipulated and enhanced to give an appearance of contours and volume. For example, the viewer will see a floating circle that appears to be a sphere.
- Animation – It is a series of illustrations used together to create illusion of animated images; similar to what is seen in video / movie clip.
- Flip – It can be two or three images changing from one to another. It causes letters, pictures, colours and graphics to vanish and then reappear when viewed from different angles. Flips change the content of the image as the viewer's angle changes.
- Morph – It gives the illusion of an image that transforms or changes gradually into another image. Work best when the 2 images are of similar size, shape and on a common background.
- Zoom – It is a form of animation that takes a small image and gradually increases its size. The image appears to zoom in and zoom out with no obvious start and finish point. Basically, the same image just get bigger and smaller when the viewer’s angle changes.
- Follow on – It is a form of animation; the images appears to move and change alongside the viewer as the viewer walked by along the completed mural. This effect is best suited if the length of the billboard is longer than 1.5m.

Animation Effect
It offers product demonstration; animated sequence; illustrate body or mechanical movement.

Flip Effect
It offers before and after message; cause and effect; multiple product / multiple view of product; a product in action.

Morph Effect
It offers a product's various shape, style or colour; how a product change from one feature to another; an older product model / logo turning into a new one; changes brought about by a product.

Zoom Effect
It highlights features of a product; an area of a scene that deserve particular attention; something small that you want to appear large.
